Rav

Rav Oren Duvdevani has served as the Rav of Netzach Menashe in Bet Shemesh since the year 2000.

Rav Oren is a graduate of  Yeshivat Har Etzion and has Smicha (Rabbinical Ordination) from the Chief  Rabbinate of Israel. He received his B.A. and M.A. degrees in Jewish Sciences from Bar Ilan University.

Harav Oren was born in Givatayim, Israel in 1972. In 1989 he began his Yeshiva studies in the Hesder Yeshiva in Gush Etzion, combining his studies with military service in the Golani infantry brigade. After completing his army service he returned to the Yeshiva and began preparing for Rabbinical ordination.

In 1995 Harav Oren met and married Irit  and during that period he also joined a program sponsored by the Rothschild Institute in order to prepare Rabbis for communities in the Diaspora. Following his Rabbinical ordination and after more than 10 years of learning in Yeshiva, Rav Oren and Irit departed to South America on a Rabbinical Shlichut. There he served as the Rav of the Orthodox community in Venezuela and together with Irit and with the local Shlichim from the Jewish Agency (Sochnut) they worked to strengthen Jewish and religious awareness within the community. Rav Oren and Irit were fundamental in reestablishing the Jewish burial society (Chevra Kadisha) in Caracas according to the Halacha, taking leading roles and training the appropriate people from within the community to take over after they left.

In addition to his role as Rav of Netzach Menashe, Rav Oren, together with other Rabbis from the National Religious sector, is actively involved in "Zohar – a window between worlds" an organization that deals primarily with bridging the gap with the non-religious sector of the Israeli community and primarily in performing marriages in such communities according to Halacha.

Rav Oren is currently completing his Doctorate degree and teaching courses in Bar Ilan University. He is the happy father of four children (3 boys and a girl).
